 C11 Matreshka Teapot
This beautiful teapot is reminiscent of Russian culture and old traditions of folk art.
It was inspired by my nostalgic memories. It was a challenging technical project of
connecting separate altered sections that were thrown on the wheel into one tall
vessel. The silhouettes of Russian orthodox churches were carved by hand on the
teapot. Gold Shino glaze was applied to the bisqued teapot and then high fired in
oxidation in an electric kiln. This teapot is safe in the dishwasher, microwave and
oven. Dimensions: 13" tall x 5" in diameter.
