Hand sculptured jewelry from Art and Metal Clay. Art Clay is
manufactured in Japan by Aida Chemical Industries. Aida Chemical
Industries is a "green" company. It collects silver which already have been
used and reclaims these metals, so no new mining is involved. Such
items as computer circuit boards and silver from photographic supplies
are processed in tremendous quantities every year. A portion of this
harvest becomes Art Clay Silver and Art Clay Gold. Aida combines these
reclaimed silver with non-toxic, organic binders. The particles are
suspended in this binder which burns off. Metal and Art Clay
represents a dramatic, innovative development in working with precious
metals. I combine fine silver Art and Metal Clay with wide variety of
organic materials creating a vast range of forms and surfaces that are
unobtainable using traditional techniques. My new work in Go-Eco-Green
Jewelry collection includes free form, hand-sculptured pure silver
necklaces and earrings with an organic rustic quality. Unique raku patina is
applied to fine silver adds depth and rich iridescent color to the jewelry.
All designs are uniquely named. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and if
repeated will be slightly different from the original. Some jewelry also
includes handcrafted wire work.
